About TTP

Thimphu TechPark (TTP) is the flagship IT development in the Kingdom of Bhutan. It is the country's first IT Park - promoted by the Department of Information Technology & Telecom, Ministry of Information & Communications, Royal Government of Bhutan, supported by the World Bank and developed jointly by Assetz Property Group of Singapore, a leading development management corporation focused on South Asia, and Druk Holdings & Investments.

The project is located in Thimphu, Bhutan's capital and is being developed as a 250,000 square feet IT-focused mixed use development spread over 18 acres. The first phase of the project, planned to be operational in the latter part of 2011, will comprise 50,000 square feet of IT office and data centre space. 10,000 square feet of space in Phase 1 has already been absorbed by the Royal Government of Bhutan to promote IT in the country, including the establishment of a Business Technology Centre, an incubation centre to promote entrepreneurial activity.

TTP harnesses the innate advantages of Bhutan - primarily the abundance of sustainable power in the country, resultant from the country's unerring focus on conserving natural resources - to deliver a global standard facility which would rank amongst the best in the region.

Work on TTP commenced in 2009 when Assetz and Druk Holding & Investments were awarded a contract by the Royal Government of Bhutan to design, build, finance and operate the TTP.

The vision of the ThimphuTechPark is to create:

  • A harmonious middle path business environment which balances 21st century technology with the traditional heritage of Bhutan
  • Opportunities for training and employment for local Bhutanese in the design, construction and operations of the Park
  • A stimulating environment which provides opportunities for technology based collaboration, learning and innovation
