Planning and Design Principles
The developers of TTP have adopted an innovative master planning strategy which dovetails completely with the concepts of Gross National Happiness & the Middle Path Strategy promoted by the Royal Government of Bhutan.
The focus of the planning initiative has been driven by the concept of achieving sustainable development, ensuring that natural resources such as forest, water, air, biodiversity, soil, minerals and the overall integrity of the environment is not degraded. In line with the Middle Path Strategy, economic development and environmental consideration has received equal priority in the planning process. The master plan of TTP effectively answers the needs of the modern day IT corporation while incorporating all key tenets of a modern business park.
The team at Assetz comprises some of the most experienced master planning experts in the region. Coupled with the expertise drawn from the master planning practice at RSP Design Consultants, the lead master planning & architecture consultants for TTP, the team has delivered a winning solution. Between them, the master planning team has designed solutions for large developments and urban planning projects having worked for prestigious corporations such as Jurong Consultants Pte. Ltd. and GTZ (German Technical Co-operation). The Planning Director at Assetz is also credited with leading the master planning of Vrindavan TechVillage, a 106 acre mixed use development in Bangalore, considered to be one of the premier IT parks in India.
The essence of Gross National Happiness and the Middle Path Strategy reflects in the design of TTP as well. As a result, the design – both structural and interiors – is a powerful blend of local Bhutanese design customs and detailing and of the latest international trends in IT park design. Design of the Park has been led by RSP Design Consultants, South Asia’s leading architectural practice.
TTP’s design is unique for an IT park in its adherence to Bhutanese architectural heritage. This has been achieved through unerring focus on detailing which has given the Park a uniquely Bhutanese look.
